CEO & Founder

Prior to Bazaar Labs, Somrat held various roles, including business development & sales at social advertising startup SocialMedia.com. Somrat has extensive background in cloud computing APIs, enterprise software, SaaS-based solutions from his experiences in sales, partner management, & consulting at Right90 and Salesforce.com. Somrat graduated with a BS in Computer Sciences at UT-Austin. Besides founding Miso, Somrat greatest achievement has been winning 5 first place table tennis trophies.

Timothy Lee

CTO & Founder

Tim develops on the iOS platform and the Rails app. Prior to Miso, Tim has worked in software development at startups in the Bay Area like Real-Time Innovations and Lightspeed Genomics. Tim has a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Stanford, specializing in robotics and computer vision, and a Bachelors in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas. Tim is best known in the Miso office for his knowledge of men’s fashion and tequila shots.

Katie Smillie

Product Manager

Katie Smillie is responsible for product management and product marketing at Miso. Prior to joining Miso in 2010, Katie ran marketing at SocialMedia.com, a social advertising startup. She has also worked at Forrester Research, publishing reports on Enterprise Architecture and Application Development. Katie graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a BA in Government and Economics. When she’s not at Miso, Katie spends most of her free time hanging out with the Young Winos of San Francisco.

Nathan Esquenazi

Lead Platform Engineer

Nathan focuses on the system architecture, database design and web services to power the mobile clients and APIs. Prior to joining Miso in July 2010, Nathan worked at technology startups in the Los Angeles area as a software engineer, created the Padrino ruby web framework, and graduated from University of California, Irvine with an Informatics degree. Nathan's favorite Miso benefit is the fruit juice.

Marketing and Community

Angie manages the community, working to build the Miso Host program and also does marketing at Miso. Before heading to San Francisco, she worked at global startups in Asia and Hawaii. Angie graduated with high honors in Business Economics from the University of California, Irvine. At Miso, she is known as the snack machine and one-shot wonder.

Kristen Tucker

Partnerships and Business Development

Kristen is based in New York. Kristen did a variety of interesting work before joining Miso, including microprocessor design for IBM System Z and System P. She has also produced independent films including HARMONY AND ME which premiered at New Directors/New Films. Kristen graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She believes in the power of tex-mex and sand volleyball.

Software Engineer

Hailing from Taiwan, Josh develops on the iOS and Ruby on Rails app. Prior to joining Miso, he worked on building automated web testing frameworks at Enova Financial in Chicago. Josh has a Masters in Computer Engineering, and a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University. At Miso, he's known for being an avid musician, tennis geek, and destroys nerds in StarCraft.

Software Engineer

Known as the "French touch" of Miso, Nico develops on Ruby on Rails and enjoys pairing up with Nathan. Prior to joining Miso, he has worked as a web developer at faberNovel/pariSoma and discovered the co-working movement. Nico will graduate from SUPINFO in Computer Science in October 2011 and might get his Master degree soon, depending on Tim's mood. That's why, for the time being, Nico will tentatively agree that Tim has a better knowledge of men's fashion.

Designer

Amritha is a designer and user researcher that graduated from Carnegie Mellon with a degree in Information Systems and Human Computer Interaction. Prior to working at Miso, she was an interaction designer for Cisco Quad, an enterprise collaboration application. Her guilty pleasures include watching Jersey Shore and wearing sunglasses at hipster coffee shops. However, more than anything she dreams of becoming a Bollywood superstar.

Sabrina graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in Communication Design and Human-Computer Interaction. Prior to Miso she worked as a visual designer at Intuit and focused her efforts on a little iPhone app-that-could called Weave. Sabrina's interests include celebrity gossip, travelling the world, Philz bagels, spicy food, and being small. Her favorite television show is Gossip Girl and she would like to challenge both Nico and Tim on their sartorial knowledge.

Content Strategist

Andy is a Silicon Valley-raised media scholar, graduating from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Film, Television, and Music Theory. After working in acquisitions at E1 Entertainment in Los Angeles, Andy realized the future of entertainment is a little north of Hollywood, and settled in with Miso as a product-community-partnerships utility knife. He was a captain of the Notre Dame 2011 National Championship fencing team, went on a European concert tour with his jazz band, and enjoys other nerdy-hipster pursuits like tabletops, webcomics, and nonconventional storytelling methods.
