Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is a dedicated family man who witnesses the murder of his wife and daughter. One of the culprits of the crime takes a penalty just five years thanks to an agreement tailored by the promoter Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), who believes it is better to have some justice than the chance of not getting any. Ten years later, the killer is found dead. Even without enough evidence against him, Clyde was arrested for what happened. His great goal is to raise the inconsistency of the judicial system that allows murderers to be released or to obtain lenient sentences, or that both need to eliminate all those involved.
