In 1946, Andy Dufresne, a young and successful banker, has his life changed radically after being convicted for a crime he never committed, the murder of his wife and her lover. He is sent to a prison that is the nightmare of any detainee, the Shawshank State Penitentiary in Maine. There he will serve his sentence everlasting. Andy will soon be presented to Warden Norton, the corrupt and cruel prison guard, who uses the Bible as a weapon of control and Captain Byron Hadley who treats inmates like animals.
