The BCS National Championship game is the final game of college football's Bowl Championship Series, pitting the top two teams in the BCS standings following regular-season play to determine a national champion. The game became a standalone contest for the 2006 college season, after a number of years in which the game was rotated among four bowl games (Rose, Orange, Fiesta and Sugar). Those bowl sites and their organizing committees now take turns hosting the BCS National Championship Game, which is annually scheduled in the week following New Year's Day. The 2011 BCS National Championship game will be played in Glendale, Ariz., on Jan. 10, 2011. The 2010 BCS National Championship game was won by Alabama. The 2011 game will feature a pair of unbeatens: SEC champion Auburn and Pac-10 champion Oregon. Both schools are making their first appearance in the championship game in the BCS era. Edit
